A rabbits diet is of utmost importance.Their diet has a large impact on their happiness and health. The wrong diet can lead to problems such as obesity, fly strike, dental's.

The main feed should be hay. A rabbit teeth continue growing at 3mm a week! Hay helps grind their teeth, if there is no hay teeth can over grow leading to a lot of health issue's.

Pellet's are also good for rabbit's; although, some people do feed their rabbits on a natural diet. Before putting your rabbit on this please ensure to talk about it with your vet. Pellet's are a lot healthier for the rabbit than museli mix, which is a lot like feeding your rabbits McDonalds. Good common brands of pellet food's are Bugress Excel, Science Selective and Allen & Page. If you need to change what pellet's your rabbit eats you should always mix their old food with their new food for at least a week slowly lowering the amount of old food in the bowl. This is to prevent any upset stomach's.

In addition to the above rabbit's need fresh green's quite often. Contradictory to popular belief (we can thanks bugs bunny for that) carrots are not good for rabbits and should be given as the odd treat. Carrots are full of sugars, which can be bad for the rabbits teeth and health.
